I have taken the first step in fulfilling a dream. I’ve signed up for “Selling Your Children’s Book: How to Write and Pitch Novels & Picture Books for Kids Bootcamp”. (This title makes me giggle because when it is open in a browser tab, it gets cut off and all you can see is “Selling Your Children” – I hope nobody is looking over my shoulder)
Armed with a beautiful rhyming story when I started the course, I thought I was ready. After the first 5 minutes of the Agent Presentation, that story went out the window and my drawing board was empty. I will return to that story once I’ve molted my debut status.
I am delighted to say, I’ve written 2 new stories that are kid driven, with no moral lesson and interesting characters. And there are plenty more up my sleeve. Fun stuff!
